With the economic contribution
of the E.U. Commission
On 24th November 2007, on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, a few initiatives took place at Fiumicino during two days with the enthusiastic participation of the local citizens and of several citizens of the European Union.
One of those initiatives was the second conferral ceremony of the Europe Award International Prize which was celebrated at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel of Fiumicino.
The ceremony was held by the reporter and writer Mr. Marco Gisotti and chaired by the President of the Associazione Pragmata, Mrs. Monica Palozzi who welcomed the participating people.
Remarkable interventions were made by Mr. Umberto Guidoni about the commitment of the European Union concerning industry, research and energy, by Mr. Mauro Gonelli, Mr. Anacleto Buggini, Councillor for the Culture of Fiumicino, and by Mr. Domenico Perna Ruggiero, Councillor for the Balance of Fiumicino. The delegations of the Towns of Luqa (Malta), Slupsk (Poland) and Cartagena (Spain) attended the ceremony together with some Maltese, Spanish and Italian school delegations represented by both teachers and students.
During the conferral ceremony the Associazione Pragmata gave the Europe Award winners and the attending Authorities some commemorative coins of the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.
The Europe Award International Prize was conferred by the President of the Associazione Pragmata upon twenty professionals coming from various E.U. countries due to their remarkable contribution to the development of research, culture and economy.
After the ceremony the orchestral group Moonlight Big Band belonging to the Associazione Musicale Torrimpietra performed a few pieces of jazz music. The concert was followed by the Gala dinner which all the authorities and guests took part in.
